Very interesting. I’ve never read it, though I have it on my shelf. I like the more comprehensive modern style guides. Too bad Pullum doesn’t suggest a style guide that gets the grammar right.
Ah, on his blog he recommends “Style: Towards Clarity and Grace” by Joseph Williams, which I started long ago but never finished despite being very impressed with it.
